Q: The serving size and servings per container changed! Why is that?
A: As is a part of our ongoing plan here at MaryRuth’s, we are happy to say that we now have USDA Organic certification for our D3 Spray! As we were going through the process to get this product certified organic, we had to change the formula just a bit; this also changed the serving size and servings per container.
The regular recommended serving size has doubled from 4 sprays to 8 sprays, and servings per container decreased just a bit from 38 servings to 30 servings per container — which will still last you a month!
Since, while tweaking the formula to get USDA organic certifications, we had the option to reformulate, we decided to try and aim for a 30 day serving, since many people have this product on subscription and the 38 day serving is an odd period of time. So how did the serving size double while the servings per container only removed 8 servings?
Though the original formula contained olive oil and MCT oil as carriers for the vitamin D3, we opted to remove the MCT oil for this product to have a 30 day serving. MCT is a much thinner oil than olive oil, meaning the overall formula was less viscous than it is now. With this new proportion of D3 in the sole oil carrier of olive oil, the solution is now more viscous (thicker), which means less liquid is expelled in each spray. Now, 4 sprays of the "old" formula and 4 sprays of the "new" formula would not contain the same amount of liquid as the olive oil does not spray as "freely" (for lack of a better word), out of the sprayer.
Though our suggested serving size is updated, you can be assured that the amount of D3 per serving remains the same (20 mcg or 800 IU Vitamin D3) because of the updated proportion of vitamins to oil and viscosity of the carrier oil. We hope you are as excited as we are to have this great product now available USDA organic certified!
Q: What does this product taste like?
A: There is no added flavor in our Liquid D3 Spray, but, since the base is olive oil, it tastes lightly of olive oil.
Q: What is the D3 sourced from?
A: Our D3 is sourced from wild-crafted, non-GMO, vegan Lichen!
Q: Should I take the D3 Gummies or the D3 Spray?
A: Well, that depends on your specific needs! The D3 Gummies offer 25 mcg (1000 IU) of D3 per gummy, while the D3 Spray provides 20 mcg (800 IU) per serving (8 sprays). If you are looking to supplement because of a deficiency, the gummies might be a better option because it contains more D3 per serving. If you are looking for a more easily adjusted dose, the D3 spray might suit your needs. As with any supplement, it’s best to ask your physician or healthcare professional what would be best for you. Your physician, or healthcare professional knows you best, knows what other supplements or prescriptions you are already on, as well as knowing if you are facing any health challenges.
