A: Our Organic Glycerin is derived from Rapeseed, a yellow flowering plant in the mustard family Brassicaceae. 
 

Q: Why make a glycerin-based herbal rather than alcohol-based?

A: These botanicals are made through dynamic processes, extracting heat-sensitive compounds with glycerin. This allows for more bioavailability of the organic compounds found in the herbs that would otherwise be denatured and rendered inert by alcohol. Additionally, by making our tinctures alcohol-free, we aim to make a more inclusive product for all!
 

Q: What is turmeric?

A: Turmeric is a spice from the turmeric plant in the ginger family, the rhizome (root) of which has been long used in cooking and traditional medicine of India and other parts of southeast Asia. It is widely recognizable for its vibrant yellow-gold color and for its use in curries. Curcumin is the major active component of turmeric, and what gives it its golden pigment!

A: An herbal tonic is an herb or botanical complex that supports overall health and maintenance of bodily systems and may promote a sense of well-being.
 

Q: How is a botanical immune supportive?

A: Many botanicals may support the immune system in various ways, whether it is through antioxidant activity, regulating macrophages and T cells, or by other functions.
 

Q: What is a neuroprotective herb?

A: Neuroprotective refers to the preservation of neuronal structure and brain health. Phytochemicals from medicinal plants with these properties play an important part in the brain’s maintenance of chemical balance, influencing neurotransmitters and aiding in the preservation of neuronal structure and function.
 

Q: What is the content of each herb in this herbal blend?

A: While this is a proprietary blend (and thus we cannot disclose the amounts of each herb in the blend), this is also just a difficult question to answer! Most of our herbal products are glycerites, which means that the botanicals are steeped in glycerin to extract the beneficial constituents and compounds contained in the botanical(s). 
 

Rather than thinking of it like a recipe, where a certain amount of x is added to y, it may be easier to think of it like a tea bag steeped in hot water. The tea it produces doesn't contain what was contained in the tea bag (otherwise you're drinking small bits of whatever was in your tea bag!), but the steeping process pulls flavors, aromatics, and various compounds from the bag of tea. The process of creating a glycerite herbal product is similar to this!
