Our vegan Prenatal & Postnatal Omega-3 Liquid Drops are derived from an ocean-friendly, wild strain of sustainably-grown micro-algae. Using a chemical-free extraction of omegas from the algae, the final result is a solvent-free and plant-based liquid omega! These vegan liquid drops primarily contain the form of Omega-3 called DHA, or Docosahexaenoic acid, which is important for fetal development and may help support baby’s birth weight as well as labor and delivery outcomes. It has also been found that high plasma levels of DHA in mom, particularly in breast milk, directly correlate with children having better growth and development of the brain and visual system, as well as superior memory performance later in life. Unlike other omegas, our delicious orange-flavored Omega-3 drops don't have a fishy taste and may be perfect for picky palates. Q: What amount of Omega-3 is there per serving?
A: Each 2 mL serving contains 1512 mg of Algal oil, which contains 832 mg of Omega-3s, with a breakdown of 800 mg of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and 8 mg of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid).
Q: What is your vegan omega-3 source?
A: While most omega supplements use cod liver oil or another fishy source, our vegan Omega-3 Liquid Drops are sourced from algal oil, which is derived from an ocean-friendly, wild strain of sustainably-grown micro-algae. Algal oil is an incredible source of DHA!
Q: What is the purpose of the sunflower oil in this product?
A: The sunflower oil & sunflower lecithin in our Omega-3 Liquid Drops is used as a carrier for the antioxidants (Rosemary Extract, Vitamin C Palmitate, Mixed Tocopherols) which we add to the oil to stabilize the ingredient. This antioxidant blend (including the sunflower oil and lecithin) is added in such an amount that the actual amount of sunflower oil used is less than 1% of the total product. In other words, only a very small amount is used!
Q: How do I know what an appropriate dose is when there are no recommended daily values?
A: It is true that there are no FDA recommendations for daily intake of Omega-3s, which makes it hard to know what an appropriate dose might be! It’s recommended that pregnant women get more Omega-3s, and likely more DHA, than nonpregnant women. Achieving 100 - ≥300 mg of DHA daily for pregnant and lactating women has been suggested.
For Omega-3’s in general, RDAs are only recommended in the form of ALA, which is the only Omega-3 considered essential. (See chart below).

Mary Ruth handled my return gracefully, which I appreciate! But this product is sickening. I haven’t thrown up once while pregnant. The smell of this alone has made me vomit the two times I’ve tried to take it (at 13 weeks so past morning sickness). I will keep taking Mary Ruth’s prenatal, but bought DHA in pill form elsewhere.

I really really wanted to like these. To me, it tasted like oranges and fish. Made my husband taste it to see if I was crazy - he said he liked the flavor. Every single time I have taken this, I have been violently throwing up within 1-10 minutes. I have tried several times and honestly looking at the bottle now makes me gag. Really wish this was in a different form. Sad to say it just isn't working out for me.

However, when we received the items in the shipment, everything was individually wrapped in bubby wrap. This took me and my team at least an hour to unwrap, check in and put on shelves.
