Q: Does this multivitamin have a safety seal? I’m concerned about the reviews I’ve read.
A: We understand that it is very important to make certain products you purchase have not been tampered with, and we are so sorry that this has been a cause of concern for our customers.
We would like to assure everyone that there is a safety seal, but due to the nature of the glass bottles, we cannot use high heat to seal the safety seal, as it is directly applied to the glass bottle opening. As the bottle is opened, the seal is suctioned up with the lid. If you're listening for it, you can hear a slight pop of the suction breaking when opening your bottle. Since this may not be noticeable for many customers, and is therefore a cause for concern, we are working on fixing this issue! We have also added an additional outer safety seal to the product so people can feel safer about their product.
When making our Prenatal+Postnatal Multivitamin, we took our customers’ feedback regarding plastic-free packaging into serious consideration, and determined that we needed to make an effort toward more eco-conscious packaging. We were so excited to launch this product in recyclable glass bottles and reduce our use of plastic!
Working with large glass bottles was new for us, and we didn't anticipate this particular issue. It has been a learning curve! We hope this helps explain the situation and ease any concerns.
Q: When should I start taking a Prenatal?
A: Nutritional needs can change over a lifetime, and that is especially true in pregnancy and after you’ve given birth. It is recommended that a person who is attempting to conceive should begin supplementing in anticipation of pregnancy. This Multivitamin was formulated to support you and baby from conception to after you’ve given birth.
Q: What is the best time of day to take the Prenatal & Postnatal Multivitamin?
A: The best time of day to take our Prenatal & Postnatal Multivitamin is in the morning, with or without food; your call! Pregnancy nausea may get the best of you, so you may prefer to take it with your breakfast. What is most important is that you take the vitamins consistently.
Q: Can I take this Prenatal & Postnatal Multivitamin with other supplements?
A: You may want to take multiple prenatal products, just to cover your bases...but doing so may mean over-supplementation of certain vitamins or minerals, which could be harmful to you or your pregnancy. You should be careful to ensure that you don’t exceed the upper limit for each of the nutrients you’re taking, and always discuss your supplements with your doctor so that you can know that you’re getting the right amount for your specific needs as individual needs may vary.
It should be noted that this formula doesn’t contain Iron, which is crucial for a healthy pregnancy. To ensure that you get the recommended amount of Iron during your pregnancy, you may want to take our Probiotic Prenatal+ or Prenatal & Postnatal Liquid Iron! The prenatal probiotic blend contains not only probiotics and other ingredients you may want during your pregnancy, but also Iron at 100% DV for adults and 67% DV for those who are pregnant and/or lactating; Or, if you prefer an Iron only option, our Prenatal & Postnatal Liquid Iron contains 100% DV for those who are pregnant and/or lactating.
We chose not to include Iron in our Prenatal & Postnatal Multivitamin formula as it is difficult to formulate with in liquid form and can potentially interact with certain drugs or other dietary substances. Because of potential interactions as well as your unique health, it is important to discuss with your healthcare professional any additional medications or supplements you are taking, as well as which may be taken with or without food.
Additionally, this multivitamin does not contain Omega-3 fatty acids. Did you know that DHA, one type of omega-3, has been shown to be important for fetal development? If you find you don’t get an adequate amount of Omega-3s in your diet, you might be interested in supplementing with our Prenatal & Postnatal Omega-3 Liquid Drops. Be sure to speak with your OB/Gyn or physician to determine the correct dosing and if this product is beneficial for you and your unique situation.
As always, be sure to check with your physician or healthcare professional before starting any new supplements. They can help guide you on what is best for you, your pregnancy, and your baby!
Q: How long is this product good for?
A: Unopened, the product is good for 2 years from production. Keep the product stored in a cool and dark place; a hall closet might be ideal! Once open and kept in the fridge, it is good for 6 months to one year.
Q: What if I forgot to refrigerate my Multis?
A: We occasionally hear from customers that they forgot to refrigerate their Multis after opening! More than anything, the multivitamins & multiminerals keep best when they are kept out of direct sunlight and heat, as exposure to heat and light will degrade the vitamin content. So long as the product hasn’t been exposed, it is likely safe for consumption if it has been left unrefrigerated after opening for a few days on your countertop!
Q: I love this product, but my budget is tight. Do you offer financial assistance?
A: Yes! We appreciate our customers and never want healthy products to cause a financial burden. Send us an email to WeCare@MaryRuthOrganics.com letting us know about the support you need.
