Q: What are the main differences between the original formula and the Essentials+?
A: The original Raspberry Morning Multivitamin contains a blend of 13 vitamins and 4 essential minerals, whereas the Essentials+ blends have 14 vitamins and 3 essential minerals and an additional organic fruit blend that includes Elderberry! We also adjusted the amounts of several of the vitamins. Depending on your body’s nutrient needs, one formula might be more beneficial for you than the other. If you are unsure which multimineral would best fit your needs, we’d recommend consulting with your physician or healthcare professional.
Q: How should I use this? Can I take it with drinks or food?
A: We suggest that everyone start with ½, or even ¼, the recommended dose to see how their body responds. You may see that you do better with a smaller dosage because our formula is potent! It can be taken on an empty stomach or with food, or mixed into your favorite cold beverage.
Q: Can I give the Multivitamin to children? What is the dosing?
A: Yes, children, ages two and up, can use our formula. However, before you give the Multivitamin to your children, we highly recommend that you show our formula to your physician, pediatrician or healthcare professional to see if our formula is right for your child. Your healthcare professional knows your child’s health best, including what other supplements or prescriptions your child may be taking, as well as knowing if your child is facing any health challenges. We recommend that the child's physician, pediatrician or healthcare professional approve all new wellness supplements. Your healthcare professional can also assess an appropriate dosage for your child. Each child is unique and different, and we want to make sure that they receive the best care possible!
Q: How can I travel with your vitamins?
A: We are working on a travel size which should be available soon. Meanwhile, many customers ration the appropriate amount of liquid they need for their trip and put it in a lunch box with an ice pack until they can refrigerate it when they arrive at their destination.
Q: I have MTHFR gene variant(s). Is this product safe for me?
A: In general, when starting any new health and wellness supplement, you should check with your physician or healthcare professional to make sure the supplement is suitable for you and your health. This is especially true when there is the added complexity of the MTHFR gene variants. We encourage you to partner with your healthcare professional to determine the best course of action.
Please do not hesitate to let us know of any additional questions you may have or if you need further assistance.
Q: I’m not feeling a difference when taking this, why?
A: Many of our customers see immediate physical results, in energy or improvements in hair, skin and nails. However, some of our customers don’t feel any difference at all. Many changes the multivitamin will have on you will be strictly internal and show results in bloodwork or better digestion. We have seen that those who are more vitamin deficient experience greater positive results right away. Regardless, please reach out if you are not satisfied with the product.
Q: What if I forgot to refrigerate my Multivitamin?
A: Some customers have forgotten to refrigerate their Multis after opening. We have done testing on the multivitamins and multiminerals: results suggest they are good for 7 days out of the refrigerator. We like to err on the side of safety and say 5 days.
Q: Are the bottles BPA-free?
A: Yes, the brown and white bottles we use for our Multis are BPA free.
Q: Why is there no iron in the Liquid Multivitamin?
A: When formulating our liquid multivitamins, we wanted to make a multivitamin that had the best possible combination of micronutrients for optimal absorption. Since micronutrient competition is important to keep in mind when formulating the best liquid multivitamin, and iron can interfere with the body's absorption of other vitamins and minerals, we decided to not include iron in our liquid multivitamins. We will be releasing a liquid iron supplement Summer 2020 in a delicious berry flavor, so be on the lookout for that!
Q: Why is there no daily value for Vitamin K on the supplement fact panel?
A: You may have noticed that we no longer include daily values on our label for vitamin K2. This is because of recent changes implemented by the FDA, where regulations now exclude menaquinone as being counted toward the daily value of vitamin K.
Per the FDA: "The preamble to the proposed rule noted that there are three general forms of vitamin K: Phylloquinone (vitamin K1), menaquinone (vitamin K2), and menadione (vitamin K3) (id.). For labeling purposes, there is no specific definition for vitamin K and the AI for vitamin K is based on the intake of phylloquinone, the major form of vitamin K in the diet. Thus, the final rule establishes, in § 101.9(c)(8)(iv), an RDI for vitamin K of 120 mcg based on the AI that pertains only to phylloquinone."
The FDA determined to change this because they do not believe that studies on menaquinone provide sufficient evidence to suggest that menaquinones affect vitamin K absorption and utilization. If you’d like to read the FDA’s full argument, you may do so by clicking here.
